This year celebrates 20 years of New Balance’s 580 trainer. And to celebrate NB’s 20th anniversary, the iconic 580 trail shoe has been re-engineered. Canadian menswear label wings + horns deconstructed the New Balance Trail trainers to create a more premium edition of the staple shoe. To do so, wings + horns chose to gut the original silhouette of the trainer, while reconstructing a three-piece build with laser-cut panels for the shoe. The shoe comes in a white colourway with an almost retro feel, and a black colourway for a more sleek, transient look. In a combination of leather and suede, with a neoprene sock liner, the shoe is both athletic and elegant.
The collaboration initially dropped exclusively at wings + horns’ Vancouver boutique and their online shop. As of three days ago, it is now available at select New Balance retailers worldwide, including J-01 in Hong Kong.
